France President Emmanuel Macron settles the Ronaldo vs. Messi debate, revealing his favorite player to the world.
With bated breath, fans discover the football icon who captured Macron’s heart. The suspense is finally lifted as Macron’s choice fuels the fiery discussion surrounding these two legendary athletes.
Ilkay Gundogan, the esteemed German midfielder, recently joined Barcelona from Manchester City as a free agent. He lavished praise on his former teammate Erling Haaland, hailing the Norwegian’s remarkable achievement of scoring 52 goals in his first season in England.
Gundogan compared the forward to Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo in his remarks; “Honestly, I didn’t know what to expect when he came here. You see the goals and all the attention that he was getting at Dortmund, and you wonder if he’s going to fit with the group,” an article from sportskeeda.com mentioned.
Further, he adds, “But when I got to know him, I was so surprised how someone could be that talented and still have the will to be even better every single day. He’s never satisfied. I feel like there are no limits for him. Messi and Ronaldo are the only comparisons for the level he could reach.”
European football is without Ronaldo and Messi, with Ronaldo at Al-Nassr and Messi set to join Inter Miami. Haaland is tipped to continue their legendary legacy.
Former Manchester United teammate Jesse Lingard, currently a free agent, made waves on social media by declaring Lionel Messi the undisputed “GOAT” after Argentina’s 2022 World Cup victory.
Lingard, who played alongside Cristiano Ronaldo during his second spell at United, formed a formidable partnership resulting in one goal across 13 matches. Lingard’s statement ignited fervent debates and established him as an influential voice in football.
In a surprising turn, the Englishman is currently club-less. Spotted training with Inter Miami, alongside Lionel Messi’s impending MLS move. Could this signal a new chapter for Lingard?
He is best known for his Manchester United stint, where he made 232 appearances, scoring 35 goals and providing 21 assists. Fans may recall the unforgettable moment when a young Lingard received a skill lesson from Ronaldo upon his arrival at United in 2003. Lingard’s training hints at a potential MLS venture. Exciting times are ahead.
The departure of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi from European football has created a void, but a rising star, Erling Haaland, is poised to fill it. Haaland took English football by storm, scoring 52 goals and helping Pep Guardiola’s team secure a remarkable treble. With his exceptional talent and achievements, Haaland has captured the imagination of fans worldwide, becoming the talk of the town and the promising new face of European football.
Gundogan said, “Honestly, I didn’t know what to expect when he came here. You see the goals and all the attention that he was getting at Dortmund, and you wonder if he’s going to fit with the group.”
He continued by equating Haaland to Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, saying:
“But when I got to know him, I was so surprised how someone could be that talented and still have the will to be even better every single day. He’s never satisfied. I feel like there are no limits for him. Messi and Ronaldo are the only comparisons for the level he could reach,” an article from sportskeeda.com shared.
Ronaldo and Messi dazzled the world, but as their brilliance dimmed, Haaland and Mbappe rose to ignite a new footballing era. With lightning speed and unrivaled skill, these prodigies will redefine the game, leaving fans awestruck. Brace for an explosive spectacle as they carry the torch of greatness into the future. The legends make way for a new dawn.
Epic Showdown: Ronaldo and Messi Clash in Nine-Goal Thriller
It was an epic showdown in Saudi Arabia where hot shot Cristiano Ronaldo clashed with World Cup winner Lionel Messi that turned out to be a massive 9-goal thriller.
In 2022, it seemed that Ronaldo’s career was on a downturn, particularly after being frequently benched by coach Erik ten Hag. However, after leaving the United, Ronaldo found a new home at Al-Nassr, where he is treated like a true star. And he showed why the Saudi club put their trust in him.

The special treatment has seemingly reinvigorated Ronaldo, and he has rediscovered the form that made him one of the best players in the world. This was evident in the exhibition match against long-time rival Messi, where both players scored.
Despite the efforts of Ronaldo and Messi, the 10-man Paris Saint-Germain team emerged victorious with a final score of 5-4, thanks to a late goal by Hugo Ekitike.
Football fans across the world received a lot of bang for their buck as a tale that has dominated the sport for more than ten years appeared to come to a close in a memorable goalfest, even though the match may not have much lasting relevance for the clubs involved.
Ronaldo and Messi’s alleged rivalry
The rivalry between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, two of the greatest soccer players of all time, with a combined total of 12 Ballon d’Or wins, has dominated the sport for over a decade and a half. Fans of the sport often find themselves fiercely supporting one or the other.

Their rivalry reached its peak during the nine years they competed against each other in Spain, while Ronaldo was playing for Real Madrid and Messi for Barcelona.
Their latest encounter at the King Fahd International Stadium in Riyadh was nothing short of thrilling. Ronaldo scored twice, offsetting goals from Messi and Marquinhos in an exciting first half. The match was further intensified by the sending off of PSG’s Juan Bernat for a lunging tackle on Saudi international Salem Al-Dawsari.
Both of their fan clubs are insane, especially on Twitter. The fights that they would have about their idols regarding the majority of the Premier League news is shocking. There were times where a transfer deal was going on with a club unrelated to the players, and either a Ronaldo or Messi fan would criticise one or the other.
The picture posted on B/R Football’s Twitter page seems neutral. It shows Ronaldo and Messi shaking hands after a good day’s game over the years and the multiple teams that they were in during the time. It shows that the fans and the media are the ones pitting them against each other.
There was never a comparison, it was only stirred up by corrupt journalists and Bots on SM, Ronaldo was mostly nothing but a tap in merchant, not even close to roben or henry per example, not even top 20 of all time, let alone comparable to #Messi🐐
As fans of the sport, it’s important to recognize that the time for these legends to shine on the field is coming to a close. Instead of continually arguing over who is better, it’s crucial that we take the time to cherish and appreciate the remaining years these players have left.
Many fans have already begun to commemorate this special moment in time, with some creating movie posters to capture the essence of this rivalry. It’s likely that in the future, movies will be made about the lives and legacies of both Ronaldo and Messi, as well as one that specifically highlights their intense rivalry. It’s a moment in history that should be savoured and remembered for years to come.
To no surprise, even positive tweets like this will still attract fans that are vehemently against the other player. One fan managed to even call Messi “Pessi.” Messi fans then posted photos of statistically how he is better than Ronaldo.
Regardless of this, it is understandable that there will be people liking one player more than the other. It is quite normal for everyone who is in the spotlight, regardless of their career. It is especially towards celebrities, to which the both of them are.
However, it’s important to remember that these players are more than just athletes, they are human beings who deserve respect. Using inappropriate language or attacking other fans for supporting them is not acceptable behaviour.
Both Ronaldo and Messi have made an indelible impact on the sport of football and their contributions cannot be replicated. Like Pele and Diego Maradona, they are irreplaceable legends in the history of the sport. It’s important that we recognize and appreciate their achievements rather than resorting to name-calling and divisive behaviour.
There has not been an official rivalry among the two football legends Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. Probably the only thing the two have in common would be that they’re household names and that they are playing for well respected clubs in the football realm.
On Wednesday, Messi and Ronaldo were tied for the most teams scored against in Champions League history. Ronaldo has always gotten more goals than Messi, however in light of the recent scores, Messi is currently leading Ronaldo in a specific category.
Messi scored against Maccabi Haifa, an Isreali team. They have officially become the 39th team to burn a goal against the Argentinian legend. Their name has officially been added to the teams that have been scored against by Messi in the European tournament.
It was Messi’s 126th goal and for total goals scored, Cristiano Ronaldo is still far ahead of the Argentinian. Ronaldo currently has 140 goals in the championship, and while Manchester United is not in the Champions League, Messi has the chance to catch up with Ronaldo’s score.
Messi’s background of winning the Ballon d’Or seven times in the past decade, he brought Paris Saint-Germaine back in the game after a scary decline in the first half.
Kylian Mbappe delivered a cross in the 37th minute of the game. Fortunately for the opponent, they deflected the ball. Messi quickly took advantage of the situation when it was out in the open and scored against Maccabi Haifa. Giving the teams a 1-1 score.
In the end, the match against the Israeli team concluded with a 3-1 victory for PSG. Messi now has beaten Ronaldo with the most goals scored against different clubs. Ronaldo has done that 38 times, Messi now has 39 under his belt.
Thomas Muller, who is a German forward had shown his opinions with the Ronaldo and Messi situation. “I go for Ronaldo,” Muller told the news. “Against Messi I have a good statistic, against Ronaldo, not that good.”
That said, regardless of Messi’s better track record in terms of Ballon d’Or awards, Muller still chose Ronaldo as the winner. Why did he decide as such? It was due to their performances against him, and that was the determining factor in his analysis.
Gerard Pique: I always knew Ronaldo was better than Messi (True or False?)
The fight between fanclubs of the two biggest football rivals just got a new ball of fire in their gas tank. Apparently, the former Barcelona player Gerard Pique made a statement saying that he always liked Cristiano Ronaldo better than Lionel Messi.
The former centre-back has done a number of accomplishments himself as he had a long and wonderful football career, retiring at the age of 35-years-old. The handsome Spaniard represented his home country 102 times since he joined in 2009.
Furthermore, he played an important part in winning for Spain in the 2010 FIFA World Cup. He joined Manchester United in 2004, which is where Cristiano Ronaldo is currently at but since he joined them at a young age, there were no purchase fees.
Gerard Pique’s alleged statement was, “Now that I’m no longer at Barcelona I can easily say Cristiano Ronaldo is the best player ever. He’s always been better than Messi.”
Fan viewpoints about Pique’s “statement”
On a Facebook fan page, the statement was uploaded garnering thousands of engagements from fans. He got some backlash there as fans stated “I think you need to see a doctor” and provided the facts which were, Messi has 41 trophies, 7 ballon d’ors and 6 golden boots.

Messi is no mean feat when compared to Ronaldo, and others were saying that Pique has no right to judge the Argentinian. Others who dislike Ronaldo went on a rampage bashing both the Portuguese and the Spaniard.

Fans were also claiming that the post was “fake news” and that Pique did not actually say that. However, he has played with both players in his entire career, firstly during his time at Manchester United with Ronaldo and next in Barcelona with Messi.
On Twitter, the bashing of Ronaldo proceeded. Messi fans were “triggered” , a term that the Gen-Zs frequently use. They claim that Ronald fans would always make fake quotes from prominent figures to prove that Ronaldo is the Greatest Of All Time (G.O.A.T).
A new term has been coined for Ronaldo fans which are “penaldogs.” It seems a little disrespectful to the award winning Portuguese player.
It appears that the statement is a hoax, and currently there are no verifiable news sources that are talking about this. However, there are news reports of Pique talking about both players in an equal light.
Pique’s actual statement
According to GiveMeSports, Pique did make a statement about both legends, and he was still skewed towards Ronaldo.
“I think that they are both amazing,” Pique stated. “We are talking about two of the best players, not just in the world but the history of this sport.”
“I always said that Messi has some talent that no one else has. I mean, he has the ball and his speed controlling the ball. The ball doesn’t go two metres far from his foot, it’s always there. It’s impossible to catch him, this talent I didn’t see from anyone.
“Cristiano Ronaldo is such a different player, they are very different. He is tall, strong, and he’s really complete. He can do anything. He can score goals with the head, free-kicks, penalties, and take one on one.
“But for me it’s like Messi is not human but Cristiano is the best of the humans.”
Erling Haaland as we know has been making waves with his impressive scoring. His family has a background in playing football, especially for Manchester City. Alfie Haaland, who is Erling’s father, used to play for Manchester City until 2003.
The saying goes that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, however among the Haalands, it is the football that doesn’t score far from the family tree. Furthermore, his cousin, Albert Haaland is also starting to have a stronger footing in football.
The Facebook post that mentioned these comparisons stated that last year the three top scorers were Mohammed Salah, Son Heung-Minboth with 23 goals, and Cristiano Ronaldo with 18. However, they did state that it has been only 11 games and Erling Haaland has scored 17 goals, reaching Ronaldo’s 2021 record,
The comments against Erling Haaland were brutal
One netizen stated that if Haaland was a “man” he would be able to score against Liverpool. A bit much coming from a social media commenter. “If you can’t score a free kick, you are below average,” stated a netizen against Haaland.
Another person stated that he can score well, but he still needs assistance from his teammates in order to score. Many have not realised that the player is only at a young age of 22-years-old, for obvious reasons, he still has a lot to learn.
“Don’t compare him with Mo Salah and Ronaldo,” remarked another netizen. They further added that Haaland gets free goals without “sweating.” Many of these commenters are not giving a chance to the young Norwegian footballer.
On Twitter, there are others who are itching to compare two different footballers to each other. According to the statistics, Erling Haaland received more votes from the tweet, as the original poster stated “like” if you feel Erling Haaland is the better player and “retweet” if you feel Mbappe is better.
Salty Mbappe fans rushed to the tweet defending his honour. Most of the comments were similar to the Facebook comments against the Norwegian. A netizen stated that Mbappe is ahead of Haaland in all aspects of football.
However, football fans on Twitter can sometimes be more empathic towards players and there were numerous comments defending Erling. One of them stated “he is better when it comes to effectiveness, he scores like a cash cow.”
The Premier League is also promoting the Norwegian player. They stated that Erling Haaland is redefining Manchester City. His fans defended him in the comments stating “he did it in Norway, Austria, Germany and now England. There were no KDBs or Fodens. He simply knows his thing. The rest of the club’s task is to learn how to deal with him.”
There are others that also stated he will inspire a new generation of footballers in the future with his scoring abilities. Others had the opportunity to slander Ronaldo saying that the Erling has replaced the Portuguese player.
To be a footballer is not an easy task, you would need to perfect your playing abilities on the field, coupled with the drama that may unfold. Furthermore, you would also be in the spotlight as what other normal celebrities are in. Due to these reasons, you will be criticised no matter what you do.
